Goodfellows & Santa Food & Goods Drive
Saturday, December 9th, 9:00am
Goodfellow’s Christmas Food & Goods Drive for Orion Township families!
The Goodfellows comprise of members from our very own Orion Township Fire Department. Keatington residents have been partnering with the Goodfellows since the 1980’s. After the Goodfellows ‘Fill the Boot’ campaign, this is their second most successful drive! The families that receive these goods are nominated by Lake Orion Public Schools and then the Goodfellows interview the families. With the monetary donations collected the Goodfellows go to Sam’s Club on Christmas Eve morning and buy all the perishable foods for the families to receive so they may have a Christmas dinner.
Santa and the Firetruck will start in Sub One at 9am and come down every Keatington street to collect donations. It will take approximately four hours to go down every street. We will make our best effort to communicate where are in the neighborhood as we make our way through.
If you are interested in volunteering, we have Elf Suits available. High School students looking for community service hours are always welcome to submit this event for hours needed. Volunteers and the Goodfellows will meet at the Walmsley Circle entrance at Waldon Road. We will depart from there at 9am!
Please see the attached photos/maps for the route. Items that may be donated:
-Non-Perishable, Non-Expired Food
-New Toys
- Cash / Checks (Made out to Orion Township Firefighter Goodfellows)
- Clothing
